To the newbie Mario is just a video game character. However, Mario is much more than just the hero of the Nintendo Super Mario Games Series, he is a mega star. In fact, Mario is the mega star of more than 150 games, 4 cartoon programs, and at least 1 movie. Like the Jonas’s Brothers or Milley Cirrus, Mario has a bunch of fans worldwide.
The amount of following Mario has is evident in the amount of Mario toys that are in the market and the amount of people buying them. Mario toys range from Mario action figures, Mario plush toys, Mario mini figures, Mario t-shirt, Mario piggy banks, Mario Chess Games and more. Mario is liked by boys, girls, moms and dads, making the Mario toys something the whole family enjoys. Mario was born in 1985, making him 25 years old this year 2010, which means that a couple of generations have become fans and followers of all things Mario.
Mario Toys are collected worldwide by those who are now in their late twenties and by kids of all ages. Mario is so famous that the Hollywood Wax Museum honored him in 2003 with a wax figure, making Mario the first video game character in history to have this honor. It is said that Mario is recognized by children more than Mickey Mouse, this cements Mario as more than just a video game character or a toy; this makes him a Superstar!!!!
